The Gilliat River is a river in the north of the Australian state of Queensland . It does not have water all year round, but only during the rainy season .

geography

River course

The river arises north of the Swords Range about 12 km south of the Landsborough Highway at the confluence of Chance Creek and Gilliat Creek . It flows north, crosses under this highway and later the Flinders Highway near the small town of Gilliat . Then it turns its course to the northwest and passes under the Wills Developmental Road south of Sedan Dip . A few kilometers east of the Gilliat River flows into the Cloncurry River .
