course

Kynuna - Julia Creek

The Wills Developmental Road branches off a few kilometers east of Kynuna from the Landsborough Highway to the north and runs along Eastern Creek . Of the 70 miles (113 km) of this section, only the final 15 km between Longford Plains and Julia Creek are paved. The rest is unpaved slope.

Julia Creek - Burketown

Julia Creek leaves Wills Developmental Road along with Flinders Highway to the west. 4 km west of the city center, it branches off to the northwest and crosses various tributaries of the Flinders River . At the Burke & Wills Roadhouse, she crosses Burke Developmental Road and continues on her way to the northwest. After crossing the Alexandra River and the Leichhardt River , it reaches the Gregory River at Gregory Downs . This 385 km section is paved. From Gregory Downs the Wills Developmental Road runs as an unpaved road north to the confluence of Doomadgee Road , which connects to the west into the Northern Territory . From this confluence it leads as the Savannah Way (N1) to the northeast to the end point Burketown on the Albert River , from where the Nardoo Burketown Road (N1) continues to the southeast. The unpaved section is 119 km long.
