The Williams River is a river in the north of the Australian state of Queensland . It does not have water all year round, but only during the rainy season .

geography

River course

The river rises north of the Selwyn Range and flows northeast. He crosses under the Landsborough Highway and about 25 km further the Flinders Highway . Then he turns his course north and crosses under Wills Developmental Road . At Sedan Dip it flows into the Gilliat River .

In its middle and lower reaches, the Williams River forms a wide flood plain in which it runs parallel in many channels.
