Giovanni Fusco
Giovanni Fusco (born October 10, 1906 in Sant'Agata dei Goti , † May 31, 1968 in Rome ) was an Italian composer , pianist , conductor and director .
Life
Fusco studied piano and graduated in composition from the Conservatorio di Pesara in 1931 ; eleven years later at the Conservatorio Santa Cecilia in Rome as a conductor.
In addition to concert activities, Fusco worked early for the RAI and as a musician for the film, for example in 1943 with Il fidanzato de mia moglie . Fusco composed numerous film scores - between 1936 and his death he created over 100 soundtracks - he often did the music editing and worked as a music historian. In 1963 he directed two film versions of lyrical operas under the pseudonym Vasco Ugo Finni , which were shown only to a limited extent in Italian provincial cinemas and partly on television.
Fusco's compositional peculiarities are described with the terms “eclectic, fundamental, musical aphorisms and semantic-expressive frugality”.
