List of incorporations in the city of Wittstock / Dosse
With the completion of the incorporation into the city of Wittstock / Dosse on October 26, 2003 and despite the separation of two former municipalities on May 27, 2004, the city is the sixth largest in Germany.
On November 6, 1993, two municipalities were incorporated into Wittstock and on October 26, 2003 18 municipalities, two of which broke away again through the courts. With the exception of these two, the individual municipalities are listed alphabetically in the first table. The area information comes from the website of the city of Wittstock / Dosse.
The formerly independent municipalities that were assigned to one of the municipalities, which in turn later became part of Wittstock, are listed chronologically in the second table.
Herzsprung and Königsberg
The communities of Herzsprung and Königsberg , which were incorporated into Wittstock on October 26, 2003, took legal action and were successful. On May 27, 2004, both places regained their independence, which was however torn from them shortly afterwards. With effect from New Year's Eve of the same year, they became districts of the municipality of Heiligengrabe .
