Babitz is a district of the town of Wittstock / Dosse in the Ostprignitz-Ruppin district in the north-west of Brandenburg .

geography

The place, in which 119 inhabitants live on 10.22 km² (as of December 31, 2013), is east of the center of Wittstock / Dosse. Northeast of the town, the extends Dranser lake in the Natural Park Stechlin-Ruppin country .

The A 19 runs west. It joins the A 24 to the north-west and south at the Wittstock / Dosse motorway junction .

history

On December 6, 1993, Babitz was incorporated into the town of Wittstock / Dosse.

Attractions

Babitz village church with the Luisen linden tree

The village church is a monument (see list of architectural monuments in Wittstock / Dosse # Babitz ). In 1910, a Luisen linden tree was planted near her in memory of Queen Luise, who was very popular at the time .
