Zootzen is a district of the town of Wittstock / Dosse in the Ostprignitz-Ruppin district in Brandenburg .

geography

The place, in which 149 inhabitants live on 13.33 km² (as of December 31, 2013), is located southeast of the center of Wittstock / Dosse. The Stechlin-Ruppiner Land nature park extends northeast.

history

1525 The first written references in different spellings find how to Titzutze , Zutzen , Zuezen , Titzütz , itzo ... Zotzen (Zoozen). In 1536 there is evidence of the place in the spelling of Czoten , 1540 of Czossen and 1617 of Züezen .

Zootzen was a village of the Ruppin rule and later of the Ruppin district before it came to the new Ostprignitz district in 1817 .
