Giovanni Tavelli da Tossignano

Giovanni Tavelli da Tossignano CASH (* 1386 in Tossignano ; † July 24, 1446 in Ferrara ) was an Italian religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Ferrara .

Life

Giovanni Tavelli da Tossignano joined the religious community of the Jesuats and was ordained a priest .

On October 29, 1431 he was appointed Bishop of Ferrara. The Bishop of Mantua , Matteo Boniperti OP , ordained him episcopal on December 27th of the same year .

In the Archdiocese of Ferrara-Comacchio Giovanni Tavelli since Tossignano as Seliger revered. In the course of the canonization process initiated for him , Pope Francis confirmed the heroic degree of virtue as a necessary prerequisite for canonization on January 23, 2020.
