The Giró-Nunatak ( called Nunatak Paraná in Argentina ) is a 380 m high nunatak in Queen Elizabeth Land in West Antarctica . It rises 6.5 km northwest of the Vaca-Nunatak in the Panzarini Hills of the Argentina Range in the Pensacola Mountains .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it on the basis of its own surveys and with the help of aerial photographs of the United States Navy between 1956 and 1967. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1968 after Captain Gustavo Adolfo Giró Tapper of the armed forces of Argentina , officer on duty on the Belgrano-I Station in the Antarctic winter of 1965.
