Giroldus de Faucigny

Giroldus de Faucigny († July 1 between 1126 and 1134 ) was bishop of Lausanne from 1103 until his death . Giroldus comes from the Savoy noble family of the Lords of Faucigny . He was the son of Guillaume, lord of Faucigny, nephew of the Geneva bishop Guy de Faucigny and uncle of the Geneva bishop Arducius de Faucigny . In 1105 he donated the church of Blonay to the abbot Robert of Molesme . Giroldus was a supporter of Emperor Heinrich V and served as Chancellor of Burgundy from 1120–1125 . He was involved in the dispute over the inheritance of the murdered Count Wilhelm III. of Burgundy on the side of Konrad von Zähringen .
