After the attack on Charlie Hebdo in January 2015, Gisela Vetter-Liebenow initiated a retrospective of the caricatures of the killed cartoonists on the Internet, in which, in addition to the Wilhelm Busch Museum, the caricature museums from Frankfurt am Main, Kassel and Basel are involved. Since July 3, 2015, the caricatures and texts of the French satirical magazine that have been translated into German have been available on the museen-fuer-satire.com platform . Each draftsman is presented in a biography. In addition, the satires are explained in a social and political context and reactions to the attack are processed. For Vetter-Liebenow, one of the tasks of museums is to arouse understanding for the draftsman.
