Gisela Zenz

Gisela Zenz (born Gisela Jungermann ; * 1938 in Magdeburg ) is a German legal scholar and psychoanalyst .

Live and act

Gisela Zenz studied law in Freiburg i. Br. , Berlin and Hamburg . After the Second State Exam in 1968, she was at Konrad Zweigert with the work Soviet aid to Dr. jur. PhD . From 1975 to 1982 she was a research assistant and later an academic adviser at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main . After studying in the United States and Great Britain , she completed her habilitation in 1979 at the University of Frankfurt am Main under Spiros Simitis with the work on child abuse and child rights . From 1982 to 2004 she was professor for family, youth welfare and social law at the University of Frankfurt am Main. In 1983 she completed a psychoanalytic training.

The focus of Gisela Zenz's work is on the rights of children, the mentally ill and the elderly.

From 2004 Gisela Zenz was involved in setting up the forum “Aging Science and Aging Policy”, from which in 2014 the “Frankfurt Forum for Interdisciplinary Aging Research” (FFIA) emerged. She is the deputy chairwoman of the State Prevention Council of Hesse.
