Giulio Gabrielli (* 20th July 1748 in Rome ; † 26. September 1822 in Albano Laziale ) was an Italian cardinal , the 1808-1814 Cardinal Secretary of State was.

Giulio Gabrielli, called il Giovane ("the younger" to distinguish it from his older cousin of the same name) came from the noble Gabrielli family and was a relative of Giulio Cardinal Gabrielli the Elder . He was ordained a priest on May 26, 1784 and between 1787 and 1801 was secretary of the Congregation for the Interpretation and Compliance of the Council of Trent (Congregatio pro executione et interpretatione Concilii Tridentini) .

On February 23, 1801 , Pope Pius VII created Giulio Gabrielli cardinal as cardinal priest of San Tommaso in Parione . At the same time he was appointed Bishop of Senigallia on January 11, 1808 . He received the episcopal ordination on February 14, 1808 , which was donated to him by Pope Pius VII as consecrator and Francesco Bertazzoli and Giuseppe Bartolomeo Menocchio as co-consecrators. As the successor to Filippo Casoni , he took over the post of Cardinal Secretary of State on March 26, 1808 , which he held until May 17, 1814, when Ercole Consalvi succeeded him. At the same time he acted between 1808 and 1814 as cardinal prefect of the Holy Congregation of the Consulta (Sacra Consulta) . He then took over the office of Prefect of the Congregation for the Interpretation and Compliance of the Council of Trent on July 26, 1814 and held this office until his resignation on May 9, 1820, whereupon Emmanuele De Gregorio succeeded him. On February 5, 1816, he resigned as Bishop of Senigalla.

Most recently, Cardinal Gabrielli was appointed Cardinal Priest of San Lorenzo in Lucina on December 17, 1819 as the successor to Giovanni Filippo Gallarati Scotti . At the same time he also acted as Pro-Datar of His Holiness between 1820 and 1822 and was therefore responsible in particular for church mercy, dispensations and similar matters.
