Giuseppe Anselmo Luigi Pellicia (born April 22, 1775 in Bormio , Lombardy , Northern Italy , † after 1840) was an Italian painter who was known for his Pompeii style.

Life

Friedrich Karl Graf von Reventlow (1754–1828), son-in-law of the businessman Heinrich Carl Graf von Schimmelmann (1724–1782), then the richest man in Europe, and his wife Juliane (1762–1816) personally picked Pellicia from Rome in 1797 , to bring him to her estate in Emkendorf and take him into her service.

Arriving in Emkendorf, Pellicia immediately began to paint the manor house, which had just been extensively rebuilt by Schimmelmann's master builder Carl Gottlob Horn (1734–1807). This job lasted until 1802, when his assistant was Siegfried Detlev Bendixen (1786–1864). At the same time Pellicia worked at Gut Knoop from 1798 to 1800 .

In between, Pellicia stayed in Rome again in 1801 and married Anna Elisabeth Röhling around 1802 .

After the completion of Emkendorf, he was commissioned in 1802 to design the Reventlow Palace in Kiel and the mansion of Cay Graf von Reventlow on Gut Altenhof . In 1803 Gut Falkenberg joined Lürschau and finally in 1806 Wedendorf Castle ( district of Northwest Mecklenburg ).

After another detour to Rome (1814) Pellicia painted the Luther image in the Marienkirche in Rendsburg in 1817 . After the death of Countess Reventlow (1816) Pellicia left the Emkendorf and Holstein estate and moved to Mecklenburg , where in 1830 he designed their Passow mansion ( Ludwigslust-Parchim district ) for the von Behr-Negendank family .

He later moved to Berlin .
