The Rossijskaja gaseta ( Russian Российская газета , " Russian newspaper") is a Russian daily newspaper; it is the official gazette of the Russian government. According to its own statements, the newspaper currently has a circulation of 432,000. The newspaper is based in Moscow .

history

The newspaper was founded by the Government of the Russian Federation , the first issue appeared on November 11, 1990.

Distribution and structure

According to the Comcom company, which regularly studies the distribution of Russian mass media, Rossiyskaya Gazeta reached an average of 734,000 readers or 1.2 percent of the Russian population in the third quarter of 2006 with each issue.

The Rossiyskaya Gazeta is printed in the following cities: Arkhangelsk , Bishkek , Blagoveshchensk , Vladivostok , Volgograd , Voronezh , Yekaterinburg , Irkutsk , Kazan , Kaliningrad , Kemerovo , Krasnodar , Krasnoyarsk , Mineralnye Vody , Moscow , Murmansk , Nizhny Novgorod , Novosibirsk , Omsk , Orenburg , Penza , Perm , Rostov-on-Don , Saint Petersburg , Samara , Saratov , Tyumen , Ulyanovsk , Ufa , Cheboksary , Chelyabinsk and Yaroslavl .

The editions appear with a regional supplement. There are also thematic supplements, for example on economic issues. The publisher, the state-owned editorial office of the Russian Newspaper (Russian: ФГУ Редакция Российской газеты) publishes a number of books such as legal texts and commentaries on them.

Official Journal

The Rossijskaja gaseta is the official gazette of the Russian government; normative acts such as laws and decrees only come into force when they are published in the Rossijskaja gaseta. In its capacity as the official gazette, it publishes the constitutional laws of the Russian Federation, laws, the Russian President's ukase , government decisions and normative acts by ministries and authorities. There are also acts of parliament and decisions of the constitutional court.

Alexander Nikolayevich Gorbenko is the general director of the editorial office of the Russian newspaper . The editor-in-chief of the newspaper is Vladislav Alexandrovich Fronin.

Hoax

In September 2016, Rossiyskaya Gazeta announced that the mayor of the Slovenian capital Ljubljana had said that Slovenia would recognize the referendum on the status of Crimea and the Russian annexation of Crimea . The Slovenian embassy then complained to the newspaper. The mayor had not spoken to Rossiyskaya Gazeta about Crimea and Slovenia supported the territorial integrity of Ukraine . Rossiyskaya gaseta apologized for the false report.
