Giuseppe Antonio Bernabei

Giuseppe Antonio Bernabei , German  Joseph Anton Bernabei (* 1649 in Rome , † March 9, 1732 in Munich ) was an Italian organist , composer and court conductor in Munich.

Live and act

The son Ercole Bernabeis received his education from his father, from 1675 to 1677 he was organist at the oratory of the church of San Marcello in Rome. Shortly before starting the trip to Munich, he was ordained a priest. In Munich in 1677 he became vice conductor at the side of his father and in 1688 his successor as court conductor. Fifteen of his operas have largely survived. He also wrote church music in the traditional style and several secular cantatas . A collection of instrumental works Orpheus ecclesiasticus, Syphonias varias commentus (Augsburg, 1698), contains six three- and four-part sonatas each for strings and B. c.
