Giuseppe Chiaretti
Giuseppe Chiaretti (born April 19, 1933 in Leonessa , Rieti Province , Italy ) is retired Archbishop of Perugia-Città della Pieve .
Life
Giuseppe Chiaretti was ordained a priest on December 8, 1955 .
Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Ripatransone-San Benedetto del Tronto and Montalto delle Marche on April 7, 1983 .
The episcopal ordination received his Cardinal Sebastiano Baggio Cardinal on May 15 of that year; Co- consecrators were Ottorino Pietro Alberti , Archbishop of Spoleto , and Vincenzo Radicioni , Bishop Emeritus of Ripatransone-San Benedetto del Tronto and Montalto delle Marche.
With the union of the dioceses of Montalto delle Marche and San Benedetto del Tronto-Ripatransone on September 30, 1986, he became the first bishop of San Benedetto del Tronto-Ripatransone-Montalto. On December 9, 1995, John Paul II appointed him Archbishop of Perugia-Città della Pieve. The ceremonial inauguration ( enthronement ) took place on January 28, 1996.
On July 16, 2009, Pope Benedict XVI. his resignation request submitted for reasons of age. Until the inauguration of his successor on October 4 of the same year, he headed the Archdiocese of Perugia-Città della Pieve as Apostolic Administrator .
