Giuseppe D'Agata
Giuseppe D'Agata (* 1927 in Bologna ; † March 29, 2011 ibid) was an Italian journalist and writer , who became known for his books, also filmed, Il segno del comando and Il medico della mutua .
Life
D'Agata took part as a partisan in the resistance in the Resistance against the German occupation forces in World War II and lived after the war in Rome , where he worked for Radiotelevisione Italiana (RAI). As a screenwriter , he became known for his modern versatility in reworking literary works for television , film and radio .
His novel Il medico della mutua , published in 1964, was filmed by Luigi Zampa in 1968 with Alberto Sordi in the lead role , as was his RAI novel Il segno del comando , published in 1987, with actors such as Ugo Pagliai , Carla Gravina and Rossella Frank. In the novel I ragazzi del coprifuoco , published in 2005, he processed his own experiences as a partisan in World War II.
D'Agata, who was president of the Sindacato Nazionale Scrittori writers' union until his death, wrote numerous other innovative novels, most recently I passi sulla testa (2007).
