Giuseppe Marciante (born July 16, 1951 in Catania , Italy ) is an Italian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Cefalù .
Life
Giuseppe Marciante received on 5 October 1980, the sacrament of Holy Orders . He initially worked as a parish priest in the Archdiocese of Catania until 1987 , before moving to Rome in 1989 after a brief activity in the Albano diocese . Pope John Paul II awarded him the title of Honorary Chaplain to His Holiness in 2001 . In 2008 Marciante was appointed to the Pastoral Council of the Diocese of Rome.
On June 1, 2009 Pope Benedict XVI appointed him . the titular bishop of Thagora and ordered him auxiliary bishop in Rome. The Cardinal Vicar of the Diocese of Rome, Agostino Vallini, Cardinal , gave him and Guerino Di Tora same year on July 11, the episcopal ordination ; Co-consecrators were the auxiliary bishops in Rome, Luigi Moretti and Enzo Dieci .
Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Cefalù on February 16, 2018. The inauguration took place on April 14th of the same year.
