Giuseppe Molinari (born January 11, 1938 in Scoppito , Province of L'Aquila , Italy ) is retired Archbishop of L'Aquila .

Life

After studying Catholic theology and philosophy , he received the sacrament of ordination on June 29, 1962 .

On September 30, 1989, Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Rieti . He was ordained episcopal on December 8th of the same year by the Archbishop of L'Aquila, Mario Peressin ; Co- consecrators were his predecessor in Rieti, Bishop Francesco Amadio and the Archbishop of Fermo , Cleto Bellucci .

Molinari was named coadjutor archbishop of L'Aquila on March 16, 1996 . He succeeded Mario Peressin , whose resignation as Archbishop of L'Aquila took place on June 6, 1998.

On June 8, 2013, Pope Francis accepted his resignation due to reasons of age.
