Dialects (of Silesian) in Silesia

Due to the strong fragmentation and natural afforestation of areas, Pauersch was spoken very differently, even within neighboring villages. The Glätzische can be divided into the following groups and dialects:

  • Nordglätzisch ( Niederdörfisch ) areas of Neurode , Braunau and Glatz , northern part of the Adlergebirge on both sides of the border and
  • Südglätzisch ( Oberdörfisch ) in the former district of Habelschwerdt , in the northern part of the Adlergebirge and the area around Grulich and Freiwaldau on the border with Moravia . Sunday was called “Sunntich” in the north and “Sonntich” in the south. The greetings were characteristic: "Guda Marja" ( good morning ), "Guda Mettich" ( good day - noon ), "Guda Oomd" ( good evening ) or the farewell "Bleit mer ock ei Goots Noama" ( stay with me in God's name ).
