The Glasberg is a mountain in the northwestern Odenwald, east of Darmstadt .

description

The 206.1 m high mountain in the Darmstadt forest area is heavily forested. The Glasberg consists partly of war rubble that was piled up immediately after the Second World War . North of the Glasberg is the Oberfeld . Erbacher Strasse runs west of the mountain. South of the Glasberg is Aschaffenburger Strasse and the B 26 as well as the museum railway line .

Old High German and Middle High German glas meaning glass , amber . The name probably refers to a light, shiny floor color or a light reflection .
