Gleb Olegowitsch Pissarewski ( Russian Глеб Олегович Писаревский ; born June 28, 1976 in Arkhangelsk ) is a Russian weightlifter .

Career

Pissarewskis international career began in junior age when he in 1995 with a body weight of 85.50 kg on average heavyweight to 91 kg of the European Junior Championship in Beersheba participated. With a duel of 345.0 kg (157.5 / 187.5 kg) he won silver, as well as gold in snatching and bronze in pushing.

In the senior sector , Pissarewski was used for the first time at the 2002 World Cup in Warsaw . In the heavyweight up to 105 kg he achieved 407.5 kg (185.0 / 222.5 kg) and took ninth place. The winner was Denis Gotfrid with 420.0 kg, ahead of Alan Zagaew and Wladimir Smortschkow with 417.5 kg each.

At his next World Cup in Vancouver in 2003 , Pissarewski was able to bring 410.0 kg (182.5 / 227.5 kg) into the duel, which placed him in fourth place. The Olympic third in 2000 Asadd Saeed Saif lifted 422.5 kg and won ahead of Smorchkow and Bunyami Sudas with 417.5 kg and 415.0 kg respectively. Pissarewski's performance in pushing brought him the bronze medal in this discipline.

The 2004 Olympic Games in Athens ended Pissarewski with 415.0 kg (190.0 / 225.0 kg) behind Dmitri Berestow with 425.0 kg and Ferenc Gyurkovics and Ihor Rasorjonow with 420.0 kg each from fourth. However, the Hungarian Gyurkovics was subsequently disqualified for doping and Pisarewski moved up to third place.

After a long break in international competitions, which is probably due to the strong competition within the Russian national team, Pissarewski was used at the 2007 European Championships in Strasbourg , where he was behind with 407.0 kg (186.0 / 221.0 kg) silver Martin Tešovič won with 411.0 kg and ahead of Dmitri Lapikow with 402.0 kg.
