Ihor Rasorjonow ( Ukrainian Ігор Разорьонов , English transcription Ihor Razoryonov; born March 25, 1970 in Krasnyj Lyman ) is a Ukrainian weightlifter .

Career

Rasoronjows international career began with participation in the European Championships in 1993 in Sofia , where he took sixth place in the 2nd heavyweight up to 108 kg with a duel of 405.0 kg (180.0 / 225.0 kg). The first-placed Tymur Tajmasow achieved 427.5 kg. Already at the world championship in the same year Razorjonow was able to increase to 415.0 kg (185.0 / 230.0 kg) and won bronze behind Tajmasow with 420.0 kg and Stefan Botew with 417.5 kg.

Razorjonow was also able to do very well at the European Championships in 1994 and the 1995 World Cup in preparation for his first Olympic Games in Atlanta in 1996 and finished third with 402.5 kg (182.5 / 220.0 kg) and first with 417.5 kg (190.0 / 227.5 kg). However, he finished the Olympic Games himself unplaced after he failed in his initial attempt of 187.5 kg in the snatch and then did not start again. Olympic champion was Tajmasow with 430.0 kg, ahead of Sergei Syrzow and Nicu Vlad with 420.0 kg each.

Razorjonow did not contest his next international competition until 1998 in the new weight class up to 105 kg body weight. He finished the World Championships in Lahti with a duel of 422.5 kg (190.0 / 232.5 kg) first, ahead of Cui Wenhau with 420.0 kg and Denis Gotfrid with 415.0 kg. At the World Championships in the following year he was again unplaced after he failed three times at his entry load of 190.0 kg in the snatch.

At the age of 30, Razorjonov took part in his second Olympic Games. In Sydney he was only able to bring in his initial attempt in the snap of 192.5 kg in the second attempt and failed in the third attempt at 195.0 kg. Nevertheless, after the break he was in first place with a lead of 2.5 kg. In pushing he secured a duel result of 420.0 kg with 227.5 kg and then increased to 232.5 kg, which would have meant gold in retrospect, but on which he failed twice and thus came fourth. The winner was Hossein Tavakoli with 425.0 kg, ahead of Alan Zagaew with 422.5 kg and Said Saif Asaad , who like Razorjonow lifted 420.0 kg, but was lighter.

In the new Olympic cycle Razorjonow continued his series of successes and was able to take third place at the 2001 World Championships in Antalya with 417.5 kg (187.5 / 230.0 kg) behind Vladimir Smorchkow with 422.5 kg and Bunyami Sudas with 420.0 kg. In 2003 Rasorjonow won the European Championships in Loutraki with a personal best of 425.0 kg (192.5 / 232.5 kg) in front of Zagaew and Smorchkow.

At the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens Razorjonow was able to realize his medal chances and won silver with 420.0 kg (190.0 / 230.0 kg) in a duel behind Dmitri Berestow with 425.0 kg and ahead of Gleb Pisarevski with 415.0 kg . Razorjonow failed in the last shock attempt at 235.0 kg, which would have meant gold due to the lower body weight. Originally the Hungarian Ferenc Gyurkovics took second place with 420.0 kg, but was subsequently disqualified for doping .

doping

2008 Razorjonow returned to the Olympic Games in Beijing after a four-year break in competition and was initially sixth in a duel with 410.0 kg (187.0 / 223.0 kg). However, he was disqualified and banned after testing positive for nandrolone .
