Glen Stassen

Glen Harold Stassen (born February 29, 1936 - April 26, 2014 in Pasadena , California ) was an American ethicist and Baptist theologian . He is known for his works in the fields of theological ethics, politics and social justice .

education

Glen Stassen received a bachelor's degree in art from the University of Virginia and a bachelor's degree in theology from Union Theological Seminary in the City of New York . He also received a PhD in philosophy from Duke University . During his school career he also attended Harvard University and the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg .

career

Glen Stassen was a professor at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary for 20 years . Until his death he taught Christian ethics at Fuller Theological Seminary . Stassen was also co-editor of Sojourners Magazine and has appeared in the media, including the Los Angeles Times and the talk show The O'Reilly Factor . His book Kingdom Ethics: Following Jesus in Contemporary Context was named Book of the Year in theology / ethics by Christianity Today magazine in 2004 .
