Gliese 86 (short Gl 86 ) is a primary star (therefore also called Gliese 86 A ) of a binary star system in the constellation Eridanus . It is about 35 light years from Earth and is orbited by two companions. The larger and more distant Gliese 86 B is a white or brown dwarf , the closer and smaller Gliese 86 Ab is a substellar object with at least 4 Jupiter masses.
