history

The association was founded on December 13, 2007 as the successor organization to the AGEZ - Working Group for Development Cooperation and the Austrian EU platform. He builds on around 20 years of expertise and experience in networking, opinion-forming and legal work. With the opening of the new umbrella organization to those organizations that provide humanitarian aid, Austria succeeded for the first time in bridging the gap between short-term, acute foreign disaster aid and long-term development cooperation. In the “continuum of help”, both areas interlock. This systemic connection continues in the amalgamation of a common interest group.

Objectives and areas of work

As a political interest group, the association advocates that Austrian, European and international politics be shaped in solidarity in the interests of the most disadvantaged people. It advocates equal opportunities and equity, a fair global distribution of goods, peaceful development and the preservation of natural resources. Humanity and the enforcement of political, social, cultural and economic human rights form the framework for the achievement and implementation of all objectives and corresponding activities. Non-partisanship and independence guarantee the ability to make decisions and act.
