Gloria S. Borders is an American sound engineer .
Life
Borders began her career in the early 1980s. She worked for Skywalker Sound for a long time , where she worked on, among other things, The Return of the Jedi and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and the television films Ewoks - The Caravan of the Brave and Ewoks - Battle for Endor . In 1992 she was the second woman after Cecelia Hall to win the Oscar in the category of best sound editing . She received the award for Terminator 2 - Reckoning Day with Gary Rydstrom . She was nominated for a second Oscar in 1995 for Forrest Gump . At Skywalker Sound, she later rose to Vice President and General Manager . In 2000 she moved to Revolution Studios , where she was in charge of post production . In 2006 she took over the management of PDI / Dreamworks .
