The Gmünder Heimatblätter were a series of publications in which articles on local history for the area of the city of Schwäbisch Gmünd in the Ostalb district in Baden-Württemberg were published from 1928 to 1992 . The aim was to research the history of the city and its region.

history

In 1928 the journal Gmünder Heimatblätter was published for the first time by the local history study group . At the end of 1937 the Gmünder Heimatblätter were discontinued at the end of their 10th year. The NSDAP revived this magazine as a new issue, but after only seven more issues it had to be discontinued in the summer of 1939 due to the war .

The magazine Unser Heimat appeared as a monthly supplement to the Neue Württembergische Zeitung in 1948/1949 , but was discontinued after only two years. Then the Gmünder Heimatblätter were published again. They appeared in the 12th year in 1950 and thus consciously followed up on pre-war traditions - the new series from 1939 was counted as the 11th year.

Between 1981 and 1992, 48 issues of the Gmünder Geschichtsblätter were published as the club newspaper of the Gmünder Geschichtsverein . They appeared as a supplement to the Gmünder Tagespost .
