The Gmünder Tagespost is a local daily newspaper in the Ostalb district and is based in Schwäbisch Gmünd . The publisher is the Aalen- based media group SDZ Druck und Medien . The Gmünder Tagespost gets its supraregional pages from the editorial office of the Südwest Presse in Ulm . The sold circulation is 10,374 copies, a decrease of 6.6 percent since 1998.


SDZ Druck und Medien, then trading as Süddeutscher Zeitungsdienst , founded the Gmünder Tagespost in 1959 as a daily newspaper for the Schwäbisch Gmünd district .

In 1965, the Gmünder Tagespost was the first newspaper in the Federal Republic to be printed in four colors together with the Schwäbische Post on a newspaper rotary printing press using offset printing .
