history

The foundation of the village could be traced back to an initiative of the Staufer as a castle settlement. A nobleman " Tietpret de Linbah " from the circle of King Conrad III was first mentioned in a document in 1150 . , who is interpreted as Tibert von Weinsberg . The noble lords of Lindach were probably equipped with Weinsberg Castle around 1140 ( lords of Weinsberg ), while Lindach Castle was occupied by a low-nobility family. In 1421 a fiefdom of a Konrad von Weinsberg in Lindach is documented for the last time .

From the 14th century onwards, the local ownership and rule split increasingly. Primarily, the counted Dominican Monastery Gotteszell many goods and income in Lindach. The Lorch monastery also had three farms. Nevertheless, there were still some free farmers in the village who belonged to the " Waibelhube ob Gemunde " .

Goods and rights to Lindach were sold by the Rechbergers in the 15th century, primarily to the imperial city of Schwäbisch Gmünd or its citizens.

In 1485 Kaspar von Nenningen and his wife sold the tower and rights in Lindach to Schenk Albrecht von Limpurg . In 1515 Limpurg sells Lindach with the tower and half court to Hans Diemar, which provoked a protracted dispute between Diemar, Schwäbisch Gmünd and Kloster Gotteszell. It was not until 1574 that the violent dispute from 1543 onwards was decided for Diemar. In 1577 and 1581, Lindach fell to Württemberg . Until 1679, the castle and village were administered by the von Laymingen family, who were incorporated in the knightly canton of Kocher .

1751 Lindach was as Württemberg's Kammergut the Office Heubach assigned, but sold the Schlossgut 1,752th After the Heubach office was terminated, Lindach was incorporated into the Gmünd Oberamt in 1806 .

On July 1, 1971, Lindach was incorporated into the city of Schwäbisch Gmünd.
