The Gmina Aleksandrów is a rural community in the powiat Biłgorajski of the Lublin Voivodeship in Poland . Their seat is the village of the same name with about 3240 inhabitants.
geography
The municipality is located in the Puszczanska plain at an altitude of 220 m above sea level. On the west and north side it borders on a large area of the Solska forest, on the south side a narrow strip of forest separates the municipality from the Tanwia river and to the east it borders on the Szum river. Its area of 53.22 km² is used 63% for agriculture and 32% for forestry (status: 2002).
The rural municipality borders on the following municipalities: Tereszpol in the north, Józefów in the east, Księżpol in the south and Biłgoraj rural municipality in the west .
history
The Aleksandrów Commune was established on January 1, 1992 from the western part of the Józefów Commune . From 1975 to 1998 the municipality was part of the Zamość Voivodeship . As of December 31, 2006, the community had 3,194 inhabitants.
In the 2007 parliamentary elections, the LPR received a record 11.7% of votes.
structure
The rural municipality of Aleksandrów has four school boards : Aleksandrów I, Aleksandrów II, Aleksandrów III and Aleksandrów IV.
Another small place in the municipality is Margole. Settlements and hamlets are: Bukowiec, Dąbrowa, Podlas, Sigła and Trzepietniak.
