Gods of Blitz is a rock band that was founded in Berlin in 2004.
history
The band was founded in September 2004 in Berlin. 12 months later, the first album Stolen Horse was released on the label Four Music , from which two singles were released. In the summer of 2006 Gods of Blitz played at some festivals, for example the Hurricane , Southside , Frequency , Taubertal Festival , Bochum Total or Rocco del Schlacko . They were also the opening act for Wolfmother and Maxïmo Park and toured Germany, England, the Netherlands and Austria. At You FM -Night on the Hessentag 2007 they played as the opening act for Fantastischen Vier , which at that time also owned the label Four Music.
On May 28, 2008, the band announced the separation of front man and bassist Sebastian Gäbel (now with the artist collective The String Theory ). His successor was Nico Kozik. Carsten Brocker (synthesizer) completed the line-up. After a tour, the band was unofficially dissolved.
Four and a half years after their last joint appearance, Gods of Blitz returned together - with their original line-up - for two reunion concerts on May 25 and 27, 2012 at the Lido, Berlin.
On August 24, 2020, front man Sebastian Gäbel announced on the band's Instagram page that the new single Cactus Complex would be released on August 28, 2020 .
