The route has exposed spots in parts

The Goetheweg (also Hermann-Buhl -Weg ) in the Nordkette , the southernmost of the four large mountain ranges in the Karwendel , runs from the Hafelekarhaus ( 2269  m above sea level ) of the Nordkettenbahn to the Pfeishütte north of the Rumer Spitze . The Hafelekarspitze , the Gleirschspitze and the Mandlspitze ( 2366  m above sea level ), which are each crossed a few meters below the summit, are worthwhile additional vantage points along the Höhenweg, which offers extensive views of the Inn Valley with Innsbruck , the Stubai and Tux Alps , the Wetterstein Mountains and the Gleirsch-Halltal chain in the Karwendel.

The path with path number 219, which runs to the Mühlkarscharte ( 2243  m above sea level ) along the south side of the summit ridge of the Nordkette, where the path changes to its north side, requires surefootedness and sufficient alpine experience due to the high alpine environment and some exposed spots .

The path is named after Johann Wolfgang von Goethe . In 1977 it was renamed Hermann-Buhl-Weg, which was reversed in 2002. At Hermann Buhl  instead, with a plaque at the cable car station Seegrube ( 1,905  m above sea level. A. ), which was unveiled on 27 November 2009, recalls.
