Gonguembo (also NGonguembo ) is a district in northern Angola .
history
Before Angola's independence in 1975, the place had the Portuguese name Quilombo dos Dembos. After that, he received the current name, while the previous name was retained as a community name. Alternatively, the place name Gonguembo is occasionally used for the community of Quilombo dos Dembos.

Gonguembo is the seat of a district of the same name ( Município ) in the province of Cuanza Norte . The district area covers 1400 km² with around 8,000 inhabitants (2014 estimate). From now on, the 2014 census should provide reliable population data.
Gonguembo District is made up of three communities (Comunas):
In addition to the municipal seats, Mussusso Cafuta, Velho Yango and Lundo are the most important towns in the district.
