Quiculungo is the seat of a district of the same name ( Município ) in the province of Cuanza Norte . The district area covers 475 km² with around 12,108 inhabitants (2014 estimates).

Other localities in the district include u. a. Ngongolo. No municipality of its own, but a unit below the administrative district of Quiculungo is the sector administrativo of Bengueji, with its seat in its capital Cacochi.
