Gorazd Bertoncelj (* 1976 ) is a Slovenian ski jumping trainer. He has been head coach of the Slovenian national ski jumping team since the 2018/19 season.

Career

After his active time, in which, however, did not make the jump into the Yugoslav national team and was only active in junior competitions, Gorazd Bertoncelj trained as a coach and later studied at the sports faculty in Ljubljana . He submitted his thesis in 2005 under the title “Basics and methodology of the development of special coordination in ski jumping.” ( Slovenian Osnove metodike razvoja specialne coordinacije smučarjev skakalcev ). Then he took over the junior division of the Slovenes in Kranj and trained jumpers like Domen Prevc , Žiga Jelar and Tilen Bartol there . In March 2018 he received a one-year contract from the Slovenian Ski Association ( Slovenian Smučarska zveza Slovenije ) as head coach of the senior national team and succeeded Goran Janus in the 2018/19 season . He was already active as the team's trainer at the 2018 Ski Jumping Grand Prix in summer.
