Gordon McKenzie
Gordon McKenzie ( Gordon Edmund McKenzie; born June 26, 1927 in Fort Totten , Queens , † July 19, 2013 in Manhasset ) was an American long-distance runner .
In 1955 he was fourth in the 5000 m at the Pan American Games in Mexico City , and in 1956 he came in 18th place over 10,000 m at the Olympic Games in Melbourne .
In 1960 he was nominated for the marathon of the Olympic Games in Rome , in which he finished in 48th place , after he had finished second in the Boston Marathon and the Yonkers Marathon .
A fourth place in the Boston Marathon in 1961 was followed by a silver medal in the 1963 Pan American Games marathon in São Paulo.
In 1954 he was US cross-country champion .
