Goswin Joseph Arnold von Buininck
Goswin Joseph Arnold von Buininck (born October 13, 1728 in Düsseldorf , † November 20, 1805 there ) was a German lawyer and librarian . He was the first director of the Electoral Public Library in Düsseldorf, founded in 1770 , a predecessor of the University and State Library of Düsseldorf .
Life
Buininck studied in Duisburg Law and received his doctorate there 1,753th In 1761 he became a member of the Secret Council of Düsseldorf and in 1769 Assessor of the Higher Appeal Court for the Duchy of Jülich-Berg . When Elector Karl Theodor von der Pfalz , Duke of Jülich and Berg, founded the Electoral Public Library in Düsseldorf in 1770 , he appointed Buininck as head librarian. He held this position until his retirement in 1802.
