Gottfried Ziegler

Gottfried Ziegler (born April 1, 1840 in Biberach an der Riss , † October 15, 1922 in Düsseldorf ) was a German businessman and industrial manager who was chairman of the Gutehoffnungshütte (GHH) board from 1904 to 1909 .

Life

Ziegler was appointed to the board of GHH as commercial director in 1873 in order to cope with the financial difficulties that the company had got into after the crash . Before that, he had already worked for the Berg- und Hütten-Aktien-Verein “New-Scottland” in (Essen-) Horst as well as for the Berliner AG for iron foundry and machine manufacturing. JC Freund & Co. worked in a leading position.

After the retirement of the CEOs Carl Lueg and Hugo Jacobi , Ziegler took over the chairmanship of the GHH in 1904. His successor was Paul Reusch in 1909 .

In addition to his professional activity, Ziegler worked in Oberhausen from 1877 as a city ​​councilor and from 1888 as a city ​​councilor .
