Gottlieb Fischer (born March 10, 1736 in Bern , † March 2, 1797 there ) was a Swiss magistrate and entrepreneur.

Life

Gottlieb Fischer was born as the son of Victor Fischer and Maria Elisabeth Zeerleder . He was director of the Bernese fisherman's post , dragoon captain , from 1775 a member of the city council of Bern and 1783 governor of Yverdon . In 1766 he was one of the founders and directeurs of the Hôtel de Musique public limited company . Gottlieb Fischer inherited the Oberried Campagne in Belp from his father and bought the “La Pièce” vineyards near Rolle and Engelberg in Twann . He owned other vineyards in Saint-Blaise and Pizy . In 1775 he bought the house at Kramgasse 25 in Bern. In Engelberg he accommodated Balthasar Anton Dunker . Gottlieb Fischer is considered to be the most important sponsor of Dunker. In 1777 he had the Gloriette built in Oberried near Belp .

In 1753 he married Susanna Katharina Margaretha Fischer (1737–1761). In 1764 he married Susanna Katharina Mutach (1741–1793), who left him in 1780 for Samuel Rudolf Frisching von Rümligen. In 1793 he married Adrienne Catherine Millenet (1750-1823) for the third time.
