United States gubernatorial elections 2015
The 2015 gubernatorial elections in the United States took place in Kentucky and Mississippi on November 3, 2015, and in Louisiana on November 21, 2015 . The governors were to be elected for a four-year term.
Starting point and choice
The Republican incumbent in Louisiana, Bobby Jindal , and the Democratic incumbent in Kentucky, Steve Beshear , were not re-elected, which the law allows a maximum of two terms. There the candidate of the opposing party prevailed, Matt Bevin (R) in Kentucky and John Bel Edwards in Louisiana. In Mississippi, Republican Phil Bryant was re- elected.
The elected were introduced to office in January 2016. The new term of office ends in 2020.
