history
Räfsnäs was mentioned as early as the 13th century as a landing stage on King Waldemar's sailing route .
In August 1809, during the Russian-Swedish war, the Swedish expeditionary corps sailed from Gräddö to Ratan near Robertsfors in Västerbotten in order to push back the invading Russian army.

In the 1990s, traffic was relocated to Kapellskär, a good five kilometers south of the route, which is more convenient in terms of shipping and road traffic, as the starting point on the Swedish side of the route.
In 2015, the former Småorte Gräddo, which already had more than 200 inhabitants but too high a proportion of holiday homes according to the definition of the crime scene, and Rävsnäs were merged into a new crime scene under the current name, after the built-up area of the two towns had actually grown together.
