Grace Marta Latigo

Grace Marta Latigo (born February 21, 1967 in Bratislava ) is an Austrian author , concept and performance artist , painter and human rights activist.

Life

Grace Marta Latigo was born in 1967 in what was then Czechoslovakia . Her mother was Slovak and her father came from Uganda . She moved with her family to Vienna in 1981 at the age of 14 .

When in 1992, after the end of the Czech and Slovak Republics, the residence regulations in Austria changed, her visa was no longer extended. Seven years of illegal life followed , which were to form the breeding ground for Latigo's social and humanitarian commitment.

Grace Marta Latigo appears again and again as a painter, actress and stand-up comedian and writes regularly for the Vienna street newspaper Augustin .
