Grace Randolph (born February 5, 1987 in New York City ) is a comic book writer , presenter and operator of the YouTube channels Beyond The Trailer , Movie Math and Think About the Ink .

Career

Grace Randolph studied at the Tisch School of the Arts of New York University and was a member of the comedy group Upright Citizens Brigade .

comics

From 2008 to 2009, Randolph wrote manga adaptations for the video game franchises Warcraft and StarCraft for the comic book publisher Tokyopop . That same year she wrote the Justice League Unlimited comic series for DC Comics . Then she switched to Boom! Studios where she worked on the comic strip Muppet Peter Pan , which is a reinterpretation of the Peter Pan and The Muppet Show stories. In 2010 she wrote a miniseries for Marvel Comics on the histories of some famous female protagonists of the Avengers (English: The Avengers ). They also worked with Scott Snyder and Matt Fraction on the X-Men -Comicserie Nation X . A year later, Randolph wrote the comic series Fraggle Rock for Archaia , an adaptation of the eponymous show . In 2012, the four-issue comic series HER-OES , written by Randolph and published by Marvel Verlag, was nominated for the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) Award in the Great Graphic Novels for Teens category. A price that has a good reputation in the industry.

In 2012 she created and wrote the original Grace Randolph's Supurbia comic series , presented by Boom! Studios was published. The series is a reinterpretation of the American reality TV program The Real Housewives in the superhero genre , in which " the drama of the life of superheroes " is thematized with satirical elements . Originally four editions were planned, but after the great interest of the readers in the comic series another 12 editions were published.

In 2008, Randolph created the Beyond The Trailer format, a channel on YouTube in which she discusses films and the film industry and regularly analyzes and reviews newly released trailers in detail ( shot-by-shot reaction ). She later spun off Beyond The Trailer with an additional channel called Movie Math. On Movie Math, she mainly reports on the current chart positions of the box office , the box office results from cinema films. Since 2012, Beyond The Trailer has been part of the digital network of Penske Media Corporation (PMC), a company founded in 2003 that is known among other things as the publisher of Variety magazine .

From 2010 to 2011, Randolph hosted and wrote the Marvel Comics-produced and weekly web and news show The Watcher .

In 2010 she hosted one of the first live broadcasts of the New York Comic Con trade fair for Marvel.com , where she interviewed Marvel Editor-in-Chief Joe Quesada.

In cooperation with the news portal Bleeding Cool, she created the YouTube channel Think About the Ink in 2011. The videos deal with categories such as comics, the comic industry as well as television and the development of comic culture.

From 2012 to 2013 she worked with the film portal Movieline, and from 2014 to 2015 as a correspondent on the morning show of the ABC television station WTNH .

In December 2017, her channel Beyond The Trailer had more than 600,000 subscribers and around 550 million hits.
