Graeme Meldrum Smith (born June 8, 1983 in Glasgow , Scotland ) is a Scottish football player who is currently without a club. He is easily confused with his namesake Graeme Smith of FC St. Johnstone ; not only because they are both Scots and have the same name, but also because they play in the position of goalkeeper.

Career

Smith played like his namesake for the Glasgow Rangers , but both never played at the club at the same time, as Smith began his career here and the older Smith only moved to the Rangers later in his career. As a substitute goalkeeper, he was awarded to Ross County in 2003 , where he was used as the first goalkeeper. Since 2005 he has been a regular goalkeeper in the first Scottish league at Motherwell FC .

In August 2006 he was in the squad of the Scottish national team for two games . In the course of the European Championship qualification , Scotland played against Lithuania and the Faroe Islands , but Smith played neither of the two games.
