The Graf-Zeppelin-Kaserne in Calw is a property of the Bundeswehr in Calw ( Baden-Wuerttemberg ), in which the Special Forces Command is stationed since its formation on 20 September 1996th

designation
The barracks was named after the inventor of the airships , Ferdinand von Zeppelin . In addition, the Naval Aviation Squadron 3 stationed at the Nordholz Air Base also bears the traditional name “Graf Zeppelin” in the Bundeswehr .
story
In March 1959, the Paratrooper Brigade 25 was set up in what was later to be known as the Graf Stauffenberg Barracks in Sigmaringen , and in June 1961 it was moved to the new Graf Zeppelin barracks in Calw. 1971 was major unit while leaving the location in Airborne Brigade 25 renamed. In September 1996 the brigade was disbanded and on September 20, 1996 the special forces command was set up in the Graf Zeppelin barracks, which has been based there ever since.
From September 2014 to September 2019, a multifunctional training hall was built in the barracks for 27.3 million euros.
At the beginning of the 2020s, 140 million euros are to be invested in the barracks.
