Granblue Fantasy ( Japanese グ ラ ン ブ ル ー フ ァ ン タ ジ ー Guranburū Fantajī ) is a computer role-playing game developed by Cygames from 2014. It was adapted as a manga and anime .
content
Four types of intelligent beings live in a world of islands floating in the sky: In addition to humans, there are also Erunen, Draphs and Harvins. Long ago their world was attacked by the astrals. The allied inhabitants of the islands were able to repel them, but the attackers created beasts that haunt the sky as astral beasts.
The young Gran lives on St.Island with the dragon Vyrn. He wants to get stronger to protect the island's residents, but also to find his missing father. One day the island is attacked by the empire, which uses the remnants of the astrals to conquer its neighbors. During the attack, Gran meets the girl Lyria, who is being pursued by the forces of the Empire because she can rule astral beasts. So Gran teams up with her and together they get help from Lieutenant Katalina Alize, who belongs to the empire but still wants to defend Lyria.
Game mechanics
Granblue Fantasy is a computer role-playing game with turn-based combat. The player has characters from 20 classes available, with different attacks or summons and combinations thereof. These are each assigned to one of six elements. The characters develop over the course of the game's story or through purchases made with in-game currency.
Creation and publication
The game was created by Cygames under producer Yuito Kimura. Hideo Minaba was responsible for the design . The composition of the game music was by Nobuo Uematsu and Tsutomu Narita . Hiroaki Hirata was hired for speaking roles . Cygames released the game itself on March 10, 2014, for Android , iOS and in a browser version.
Manga
Several manga series have been published for the game.
On the Cygames website, Grablu! ( ぐ ら ぶ る っ! , Guraburu! ) A weekday comic strip since mid-2014. This one is drawn by Kikui Ichimonji. At Kadokawa the chapters have been summarized in six anthologies ( Tankōbon ) so far (as of July 2018) .
Another adaptation of Cygames, written by Makoto Fugetsu and drawn by cocho, has appeared on the Cycomi website since May 8, 2016 . Kōdansha brings out the chapters in five anthologies so far. The fourth volume sold over 22,000 copies in the first week. A German translation has been published by Altraverse since May 2018, with six volumes so far. The series is published in Italian by Planet Manga .

Light novel
Cygames brought the publisher Kadokawa for game two Light Novel out: Gran Blue Fantasy Miyabi Hasegawa appeared on 26 December 2014 to 30 October 2017 at Famitsu Bunko in nine volumes, and Gran Blue Fantasy: Members Fight ( グランブルーファンタジーメンバーズフェイト) of Toshihiko Tsukiji on May 19 and October 20, 2016 at Fujimi Fantasia Bunko in two volumes.
Anime
In A-1 Pictures 2017 originated Anime -Adaption to the game. Ayako Kurata directed the production and Toshifumi Akai created the character design . Masatoshi Kai was the artistic director .
The 12 episodes, each 23 minutes long, were broadcast from April 2nd to June 25th 2017 on Tokyo MX , BS11 , Tochigi TV , Gunma TV at midnight (and thus on the previous TV day ), as well as on MBS with an offset of up to one week , AT-X , TV Aichi , Hokkaidō Hōsō , RKB and Saga TV . Aniplus Asia shows the series in English, and it was broadcast via streaming from several platforms, including Wakanim with German and French subtitles . TV5 showed the anime in the Philippines. Peppermint Anime released the series in German on DVD and Blu-ray.
In March 2019 it was announced that the anime series will have a second season and will be shown on television from October of the same year. While the voice actors were largely retained, the line-up changed almost completely after a studio change to MAPPA .

The music for the series was composed by Nobuo Uematsu , Tsutomu Narita and Yasunori Nishiki . The opening title of the series is Go by Bump of Chicken and the closing song is called Sora no Parade ( ソ ラ の パ レ ー ド ) and is by Haruhi.
