Grand Prix season 1919
The 1919 Grand Prix season was the first after the First World War . No Grandes Épreuves were advertised by the world automobile association AIACR .
Three major races took place: the Indianapolis 500 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway , the Elgin National Trophy at the Elgin Road Race Course in Elgin , Illinois in the USA and the Targa Florio in Sicily .
