Grant & Forsyth
Grant & Forsyth is a British country-pop - duo that with cover versions of international hits mainly in the Netherlands had successes.
biography
Julie Forsyth is the daughter of English show master Bruce Forsyth. Dominic Grant had a top 20 hit in the Dutch charts as early as 1982 with the solo single I Won't Let Me Down . The two musicians were members of the English vocal group Guys 'n' Dolls from 1974 until their breakup in December 1985 , which performed with hits like There's a Whole Lot of Loving (1975), You Don't Have to Say You Love Me (1976) and You're My World (1977). Then the duo Grant & Forsyth was founded.
With cover versions of well-known pop titles , they gained popularity from 1986, especially in the Netherlands. With a medley of Frankie Valli The Sun Is Gonna Shine Anymore not and The Ronettes ' Be My Baby succeeded there in the spring of 1988, made it into the Top 20. In the summer, followed Anything for You , the original of Gloria Estefan comes, and reached the Top 40.
From 1990 onwards, Grant & Forsyth added elements of country music to their style . The album Country Love Songs became the duo's greatest success and climbed to number 6 on the Dutch charts. The extracts Somewhere Between and To Know You Is to Love You , which, like all other songs on the long player, are cover versions of well-known country classics, also became chart hits. At the end of the year, the Christmas album Country Christmas and the single The Greatest Gift of All , originally sung by Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton , continued this success.
In 1991, Country Love Songs 2 was another British album in the Netherlands at number 17. The release Turning Over New Leaves was the last song in the single charts so far. Seven other studio albums and three compilations made it into the Netherlands' charts in the following years. It features cover songs like Smokies Lay Back in the Arms of Someone , John Denver's Take Me Home, Country Roads and CCRs Bad Moon Rising / Proud Mary .
Julie Forsyth and Dominic Grant's last joint release so far is the 2013 single Anyone Who Had a Heart .
